Alloa Tower

Large fortified tower boasts lavish interiors where kings and queens once wandered

Things to do

Guided tours for groups of up to 50 people can be arranged but must be booked in advance.

Take time to admire the artworks by Raeburn and Van Dyck, along with precious china and silverware – all from the Erskine family’s private collection.

Climb all the way up to the roof, from where the views of central Scotland are spectacular.

During your visit, you’ll hear tales of curses, ghosts, fortunes and titles lost and regained, and the building’s ruin, rescue and restoration.

Younger visitors can dress up in costumes from the 16th and 17th century.

We welcome school visits at Alloa Tower. For more information, please see our Learning pages.
