Additional Information

Grey Mare's Tail

Grey Mare’s Tail Nature Reserve is part of an extensive area of high ground known as the Moffat Hills. The reserve boasts several lofty summits such as White Coomb, Lochcraig Head and Carrifran Gans from which to view the reserve, neighbouring high hills that include Hart Fell, Saddle Yoke and Croft Head, and further afield towards the Lake District and Cheviot Hills.

The footage was taken near the summit of Carrifran Gans on 24th March between 5.50am and 8.00am. This required a 4am start in order to reach the summit before sunrise; worth all the effort when you are rewarded with such a stunning sunrise and spectacular views.

All footage was filmed and edited by the Grey Mare's Tail Ranger Service.
