Pollok House

About this place

Enjoy lunch in the Old Kitchen café before exploring the gardens and grounds of this grand country house

  • Pollok House is now closed for approximately two years for a major conservation project led by Glasgow City Council.
  • Take a seat in the old kitchen of the house, now a café serving lunch, snacks and sweet treats.
  • Browse the shop for gifts for friends and family (and yourself!), also on the ground floor by the café.
  • Wander round the gardens and then explore the wider grounds of the country park.

This elegant stately home is set in the scenic Pollok Country Park on the outskirts of Glasgow. The Maxwell family lived for six centuries on the site, but the main part of the present house was built in the mid-18th century – an example of Georgian grandeur that would be at home in a Jane Austen novel.
