Crarae Garden

Tranquil woodland garden with Himalayan plants and tumbling waterfalls

Things to do

Guided tours are available but must be booked in advance – please call the garden for more information.

We welcome school visits at Crarae Garden. For more information, please see our Learning pages.

You may spot a variety of wildlife while walking around the garden, including red squirrels, deer with fawns, treecreepers, ravens, woodpeckers, dippers and birds of prey such as buzzards, sparrowhawks and peregrine falcons, which nest nearby.

There are five different marked trails through the garden.

The Spirit of the Garden and the Path of the Panda trails offer a gentle stroll around the lower level of the garden.

The Himalayan Gorge, Plant Hunters Trail and Fyne View contain steep steps along the gorge of the burn. Trek along the ridge to be rewarded by magnificent views over the garden and across Loch Fyne.

Walks range in length from 15 minutes to around 1 hour. If you wish to see the whole garden, we recommend allowing 2½ hours for your visit.

There are no facilities on the walks – all facilities are at the visitor centre.

Crarae Garden is available to hire for private events – please call the garden for more information.
