Newhailes transformed into Carhailes

Lots of classic and vintage cars are parked on the lawn in front of Newhailes House. People are wandering around looking at them and talking to the car owners. There is a yellow BVAC pagoda in the background.

Car lovers from across the country descended on the beautiful Newhailes estate, located on the edge of Musselburgh in East Lothian, to enjoy this free annual event.

Car clubs including the Borders Vintage Automobile Club, the Edinburgh & Lothians Mini Owners’ Club, the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club and the MG Club attended the festival. Crowds were wowed by Clan Stunt with their awe-inspiring bike displays throughout the day. Vintage buses, police quads and fire engines were on show for visitors to admire whilst they enjoyed delicious treats from the Newhailes café and Old Dairy ice cream parlour.

Claire Grant, Operations Manager for Edinburgh, said, ‘Last year’s Carhailes was such a success and we were delighted to be able to bring this free event back to Newhailes for the second year running – only this year even bigger and better.’
