Culzean’s newly restored Fountain Court ready for first events
A new drainage system has been installed, allowing the area to become a suitable stage for public events once again. The installation work has now been completed and the Trust team at Culzean are getting ready for the screenings of Beauty and the Beast sing-a-long and Disney’s Scottish tale, Brave, which will be shown in the idyllic setting of Fountain Court, with Culzean Castle acting as the perfect backdrop.
Gareth Clingan, Operations Manager at Culzean Castle and Country Park said: ‘We are really looking forward to welcoming visitors to our first Fountain Court events. It’s such a great location – we hope that the castle doesn’t distract viewers from the onscreen action!’
The repair and restoration of Fountain Court was carried out last year as part of a major programme of works at the conservation charity’s Ayrshire estate. The £2.5 million project transformed the entrance to the estate, created new all-abilities trails, saw the opening of Wild Woodland for younger visitors and introduced a new trailer transport system to help visitors explore the estate’s many treasures.
Beauty and the Beast sing-a-long will be screened on Friday 27 April and Brave on Saturday 28 April, both starting at 7.30pm. Online booking in advance is recommended.
There will be a large space for you to set up your own seating, blankets and pillows – arrive early to get the best spot!
A bar and food stall will be available on both nights and there is also the option to upgrade and become a VIP for the evening for a truly memorable experience. VIP tickets include front row seats, hire of a vintage deckchair, prosecco and a hot dog.
