- The Trust looks after around 35 major gardens
and
designed landscapes and over 30 smaller gardens.
Almost every style of Scottish garden history is
represented - from late medieval to modern creations in older
settings.
- With more than 283 hectares under intensive
cultivation, supporting over 13,500 different to taxa (species and cuiltivars) of
plants, our gardens are internationally renowned for
their plant collections. Geographical and climatic
diversity, such as the Gulf Stream's effect on west
coast gardens, provide conditions for the growth of remarkable, and often unique, collections.
- Our gardens play host to events, lectures,
conferences, musical performances and much more throughout the year, offering many ways to enjoy
these gems and celebrate Scotland's garden heritage.
