Things to do

School visits

We welcome school visits at Newhailes. For more information, please see our Learning pages.

Play areas

Weehailes, our new adventure play park, has been specially developed for younger children and is themed on the Newhailes story.

Weehailes is designed for children aged 3–12 but children aged 0–15 are admitted.

All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 16 or over.  An adult can supervise up to 4 children. We can admit a maximum of 2 adults per child.

Nature spotting

Newhailes estate is home to a wide range of flora and fauna, with over 60 species of bird found here. These include blue, great and coal tits, chaffinches, bullfinches, chiffchaffs and nuthatches. Our meadows provide breeding grounds for skylarks and curlews.

Walks

Please ask a member of staff at our visitor centre for a map and information on walking routes of the estate.
