Kellie Castle & Garden

Victorian style comes to the fore in fine artworks, ornate plasterwork and an Arts & Crafts garden

Things to do

Self-guided tours

Kellie Castle offers a choice of guided or self-guided tours. Find out all about life in the castle from our knowledgeable, friendly staff and volunteers.

This year we’ve been reorganising the castle’s rooms! There’ll be some different items in different places, some items that haven’t been seen before, and some old favourites that might have a new place. See if you can spot the changes.

Explore three bespoke ‘touch books’ relating to the furniture, plasterwork and embroidery found throughout the castle. You can also add a stitch to our Kellie embroidery, which adds another thread to Kellie’s history.

Take the opportunity to explore our beautiful walled garden and woodland walk, where dogs are welcome.

Guided tours

Guided tours run at 11am and 12.15pm.

We operate open guiding between 1pm and 5pm.

For groups of over 12 people, please contact us for details and to make a booking.

Visit the stables, where there’s an exhibition on sculptor Hew Lorimer’s life, and see his sculpture studio.

Children's activities

We offer children’s castle and garden trails.

Play areas

Run wild in the woodlands and discover the adventure playground.

Kellie Castle is the perfect venue for weddings, corporate events and private parties. For more information please see our venue hire pages
