Culzean Castle & Country Park

Robert Adam’s cliff-top masterpiece rises above a world of woods, beaches, secret follies and play parks.

Things to do

There are guides in most rooms of the castle, who are always happy to answer questions. Information sheets are provided in each room, which detail the architecture, furniture, objects and paintings.

Highlights of the castle include Adam’s sweeping Oval Staircase and a fine collection of paintings and furniture. Children love to spot the Lego figure hidden in each room.

Explore the grounds of Culzean by following the waymarked trails. From shingle beaches to soaring cliffs, a towering pagoda to a huge Deer Park filled with deer, llamas and Highland cows, there really is something for all the family to fall in love with here.

Free guided tours of the castle are available daily at 11am and 2.30pm from 30 March to 27 October.

Visitors can also discover the history of Culzean Castle through a multimedia tour for iPhone and iPad.

We also offer private guided tours for groups or those wanting a more in-depth tour of the castle or walled garden (advance booking is required – please contact us for further information).

We welcome school visits at Culzean Castle & Country Park. For more information, please see our Learning pages.

Unleash your inner adventurer and make your way around the Adventure Cove and Wild Woodland playgrounds!

If a day’s not enough, stay for longer at one of our holiday cottages or in The Eisenhower on the top floor of the castle.

Culzean Castle is the perfect venue for weddings, corporate events and private parties. For more information see our venue hire pages.
