Royal Burgh of Culross

Step into the past along the cobbled streets of a picturesque village with its own ochre-coloured palace

Things to do

Self-guided Tours

Make sure you leave plenty of time to explore the village and Palace as there is a lot to see and do. Get a sense of what it would have been like to live in Culross Palace in its prime, with original painted woodwork and beautifully restored 17th- and 18th-century interiors. The Palace allows you to enjoy your tour at your own pace.

We love Outlander! The streets of Culross have appeared many times in this hit TV series. Follow in the footsteps of Jamie and Claire.

Wander along charming, peaceful streets which were once full of the hustle and bustle of a thriving 17th-century port on the River Forth.

Guided tours

Town tours are also available on selected days.

Children's Activities

Children will enjoy taking the Culross Dumpy Hen quiz around the Palace; spotting the Lego figures in each room as they explore the many nooks and crannies of the Palace; exploring the quirky and multi-level Palace Garden and smelling herbs such as lavender and thyme; and making a paper flower.

We welcome school visits at Culross. For more information, please see our Learning pages.
