Getting here
Culloden is 5 miles east of Inverness, off the A9/B9006. Follow the brown signs to Culloden.
There is a car park, although parking can be limited at peak times.

Planning your visit
Please note that car parking is limited at peak times.
For a visit to the museum and battlefield we recommend approximately 2 hours to make the most of your trip, although avid history fans can easily spend 3–4 hours on site.
Please note that luggage storage is not available.
Drones are not allowed over the battlefield.
There are grazing livestock at this site, so please keep your dog under close control and let the animals have some space. Thank you for showing consideration for the safety of our livestock and wildlife.
Please be aware that honeybees are kept in hives at this site.
Every penny spent on site, from the car park to the café, goes back into helping us conserve the battlefield and protecting our heritage for the future.

There are large spaces for coaches and motor homes in the car park.
Well-behaved dogs are permitted inside the visitor centre shop and café but not in the museum itself.
Dogs are welcome on the battlefield, but please keep them under close control and pick up after them.
There’s one 22kW electric car charging post in the car park.

We have a hearing loop throughout the visitor centre.
The car park is open daily, from 8am–6pm.
Car parking is free for members of the National Trust for Scotland. For non-members there is a Pay & Display charge.
Motorcycle bays are also available.
