Itineraries by theme
We have created several itineraries that explore different areas of Scotland’s rich heritage, to help set you off on your road to discovery.
Gardening delights
We look after more than 30 major gardens across Scotland, all part of 500 years of Scottish gardening history.
These include formal gardens in castle grounds and a garden created by students of the Trust’s School of Heritage Gardening. We tend rare species from around the world and hold national collections of flowers, trees and plants. At each garden you can enjoy seasonal colours and displays.
This itinerary highlights all our must-see gardens, from sub-tropical Inverewe in the north to the ever-developing garden at Threave in the south.

Setting scenes
Scotland has provided the backdrop and setting for an increasing number of films and serial dramas. Glencoe led James Bond to his childhood home in Skyfall. The Glenfinnan railway viaduct is arguably now better known as Harry Potter’s route to Hogwarts. Historical facts blend with filmed fiction in the hit TV series Outlander where Culross doubles for Cranesmuir. These impressive moments on screen are truly breathtaking scenes in reality.
