In the vegetable garden at Brodie Castle

Brodie veg garden

Transcript

Hi everyone, once again, welcome to the veg garden. Today we’re going to be planting our brassicas, so that’s our cabbage, broccoli and Brussels sprouts. As you can see, it’s a glorious day with good weather. Still self-isolating, there’s nobody else with me except for Willow, she’s down there with her stick, my little companion!

So, we’ll get planting and I’ll show some pictures as we go and a video at the end.

OK everyone, here we go, that’s the broccoli, kale and cabbages planted. Hard to see because they’re really small. That’s just one of the broccolis, kale in the middle and we’ve got cabbages up at the end, and broccoli as well.

They’re all in there and we’ll keep them watered. I now need to water these – whenever you plant something, it’s really important that you water it and give it a good drink.

Keep it well-watered, especially in this warm weather and we should have some good veg in no time at all.

Ed Walling, Brodie Castle’s Head Gardener, plants out brassicas – cabbage, broccoli, kale and Brussels sprouts – and gives some tips on how to care for them.
