Family fun at Brodie’s Summer Festival!

A large white statue of a rabbit lies on a hillside. Children play around it. Bubbles float in the air beside them.
With three days of fantastic events from August 12–14, the Summer Festival at Brodie Castle will celebrate summer 2022 with a bang, and is suitable for all ages.

On Friday 12 August, we'll be kicking off the Summer Festival with a ceilidh in the Playful Garden from 7pm. Let loose in one of the Trust’s most unusual gardens! There will be fantastic food available, and live music from the Black Isle Ceilidh Band.

And on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 August between 10am–4pm, come along for our Family Fun Days! Events include live theatre performances from the Madhatters of Moray, and a range of interactive activities to get involved in such as crafts, face painting, rides, and a scavenger hunt for the whole family to enjoy. There will also be various eateries, in addition to the onsite café and tearoom.

The Summer Festival will take place in the Playful Garden, which sits in the grounds of Brodie Castle. It is home to a fascinating menagerie of characters and interactive sculptures inspired by the castle and the Brodie family’s quirky and colourful history, including Scotland’s biggest bunny sculpture, Brodie the Bunny!

Regional Director for the Highlands and Islands Clea Warner shared her excitement for the festival weekend: ‘The Summer Festival is going to be a great way to celebrate Summer 2022, it has something for both adults and children to get involved in and enjoy so is perfect to bring the family together before children start heading back to school.

With a combination of one of Scotland’s most prominent clans and one of its oldest traditions, we’re excited to welcome everyone along to the ceilidh to continue the tradition and be a part of the plentiful parties that may have taken place at Brodie Castle in the past and the many still to come.’

The Summer Festival is suitable for all ages and open to the whole family to enjoy!
