Pitmedden Garden

Tags: North East Scotland

Renaissance walled garden | C17th | Ellon | AB41 7PD

Re-created by the Trust in the 1950s, this garden was based on 17th-century plans of the garden at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. Garden features 6 miles of clipped box hedging, shaped yew hedges and intricate, colourful parterres inside weathered stone walls. There’s a large orchard just outside the walls. 17th-century Pitmedden House adjoins the garden – predominantly for exterior filming although interior filming possible in the North Wing. Ample parking available.

The house also offers accommodation (for 7 people) in the North Wing - perfect for a shoot-and-stay location (subject to availability). Please contact the Filming Manager for enquiries about filming in the apartment.
