Gifts in Wills: Our promise to you

We are deeply grateful for each and every gift that we receive, and we recognise that the decision to include a gift to the National Trust for Scotland in your Will is one that requires consideration.

This is our promise to those who choose to support our charity in this meaningful and impactful way.

  1. We will always treat you, your family, next of kin and executors with care, respect and sensitivity.
  2. We will not pressure you into supporting our charity with a gift in your Will and we recognise this is a personal decision for you to make in your own time.
  3. We respect that when writing your Will, your loved ones come first.
  4. We will do our best to help in any way we can, but we will never offer legal advice or seek to replace proper legal guidance.
  5. We would love to hear from you if you would like to let us know that you have included a gift to our charity in your Will, but you do not need to tell us. We would like to thank you but understand you may wish to keep your decision private during your lifetime.
  6. We will only keep in touch with you about your gift should you wish for us to. You can change your communication preferences at any time.
  7. We understand that circumstances may change over time and will understand if you need to remove your gift to our charity from your Will at any time.
  8. As with all donations, we promise to use your gift carefully and wisely to ensure that your gift can make the most impact.
  9. If you intend your gift to be used in a particular way through a ‘wish’, we will always do our best to ensure its use is in keeping with your wishes.
  10. We are here for you should you require any information or have any questions; you can contact us on 0131 458 0342 or legacy@nts.org.uk
