Once part of the abbey grounds, likely a section of the kitchen garden tended by the monks, the orchard has been around since the mid-to-late Victorian period. James Curle, along with his wife Blanche, resided in Priorwood House and was an enthusiastic gardener who cared for Priorwood Garden. His documentation features apple trees like Peasgood Nonsuch and pear trees such as Winter Nelis. The oldest tree in the orchard is a Bramley, thought to have originated in the mid-to-late 1800s. Other trees were planted around 1975, with an emphasis on introducing more local apple varieties from the region.
