Our large herbaceous bed in front of the east wall of Harmony Garden has, in the past, been used as a backup bed for the dried flowers once sold at Priorwood Garden. We are now focusing on incorporating a Forbes of Hawick nursery link – a local nursery in nearby Hawick which was open from 1870–1969. It became one of the largest nurseries in the country and was celebrated for its collections of penstemon, phlox and delphinium, varieties of which would have been bought and planted in the garden at the time.
