Planning your visit
We want you to enjoy your visit to Culloden – your safety is our priority. This means we’ve had to make some changes so that we can keep everyone safe. Please read our Guide on what to expect before you set off.
For a visit to the museum and battlefield we recommend approximately 2 hours to make the most of your trip, although avid history fans can easily spend 3–4 hours on site.
Drones are not allowed over the battlefield.
Every penny spent on site, from the car park to the café, goes back into helping us conserve the battlefield and protecting our heritage for the future.
Facilities & access
We provide wheelchairs, free of charge.
Powered scooters can be borrowed to tour the battlefield.

There are large spaces for coaches and motor homes in the car park.
Dogs are welcome on the battlefield but please keep them under close control and pick up after them. Only assistance dogs are allowed inside the visitor centre.
There’s one 22kW electric car charging post in the car park.
A guided tour of the battlefield with one of our expert guides is included in the cost of admission.
We have a hearing loop throughout the visitor centre.

The car park is open daily, from 8am–6pm.
Car parking is free for members of the National Trust for Scotland. For non-members there is a Pay & Display charge.
Motorcycle bays are also available.
