Halloween recipe – Bone-chilling boo-nanas

3 ghost banana lollies
These ghostly banana lollies, coated in coconut, are a healthier Halloween treat for children – and they’ll have lots of fun making them!

Ingredients

(Makes 6 boo-nanas)

3 bananas, peeled and cut in half
18 chocolate chips (or raisins if you prefer)
40g unsweetened desiccated coconut
6 lolly sticks

Inserting a lolly stick into a half banana

Method

1. Peel and cut each banana in half, then insert a lolly stick into each half, making it easy for your little ones to hold.

2. Empty the desiccated coconut onto a flat tray then ask the children to roll their bananas back and forth, thoroughly coating the banana in the coconut.

3. Press the chocolate chips (or raisins) into place as the ghost’s eyes and mouth.

If you want to make them really spooky, you can use red food colouring to paint blood dribbles and teeth.
