Brodie Illuminated 2025
The event has been off to a flying start, with the castle already welcoming over 5700 visitors in the first two weekends. Open every Thursday – Sunday in November, all profits from Brodie Illuminated go straight back into caring for this special place. Events like this help the Trust care for Brodie Castle & Estate, which is particularly important this year following the recent storms that affected the wider Brodie Estate.
The theme is inspired by the castle’s intricate dining room ceiling, which depicts characters of the four elements. Throughout the illuminated trail, visitors will see how each element comes to life through light and sound. Wandering along the charming trail, they will experience the beautiful light installations by Malcom Innes, spoken-word poetry, and featured photos from visitors to the castle on the photo display projection wall.
Warm food and drinks are available from the Brodie catering van, and the Playful Café is open during the event.
Pamela Hill, Operations Manager at Brodie Castle, said: ’We are delighted to bring Brodie Illuminated back for its sixth season with creative light designs by Malcom Innes. This year, we want to encourage our visitors to immerse themselves in the elements and reflect on how we are all connected through them.
’The beautiful dining room ceiling inspires the theme with intricate designs; you’ll know them if you’ve been on one of the castle tours. The light trail is a fantastic opportunity to get outdoors, enjoy an autumnal evening, and take a relaxing walk around the beautiful grounds. This year, we have themed zones throughout the trail, each focusing on one of the elements.
