A walker sitting on a stone at the summit of Ben Lomond. In the background is Loch Lomond and its islands.

From its mountains to its monuments, and its castles to its collections, Scotland belongs to all of us and has the power to inspire everyone.

As the guardian of special places filled with history and culture, as well as some of the world’s most spectacular natural landscapes, we’re bursting with passion to inspire a love of Scotland in more people.

We believe that Scotland is your Scotland. The landscapes and buildings are your landscapes and buildings. Together, we can make sure that the country we love is accessible to everyone, now and for years to come.

We’ve spent decades improving access to the incredible places in our care, helping them truly become places for everyone. We’ve provided endless opportunities for the public to engage with our work; we’ve made learning fun for people of all ages; and we’ve encouraged future generations of builders, rangers, curators and archaeologists.

Your donations will enable us to open our doors to millions of people, provide events and activities for those with access needs, and create apprenticeships for young craftspeople and budding gardeners.

We need your support to ensure that Scotland’s heritage has a future.

Timesliders: Drumming up excitement for Scotland’s history

In spring 2025, we launched Timesliders, a brand-new learning programme for primary school children at Drum Castle in Aberdeenshire. Combining live theatre, interactive visits and immersive digital technologies, this innovative approach to learning is set to transform how we engage with schoolchildren and their families.

At the heart of Timesliders is the power of storytelling. The adventure follows Kyla and Eden as they journey through Scotland’s past, present and future, racing to stop the villainous Professor Curran from altering the course of history. Through their travels, young learners experience the rich heritage of our places in an exciting and memorable way.

Providing everyone with access and enjoyment is central to our charitable mission. That commitment has driven our development of Timesliders, which we piloted at Pollok House, Glasgow, in 2023, with three primary schools participating.

A line of school children file into the old entrance to Drum Castle.

Building on this success, we now aim to reach 1,500 pupils, teachers and their family members in Aberdeenshire, using the fascinating history of Drum Castle and the North East as a foundation for learning. Timesliders offers opportunities to connect communities across various backgrounds, including those who may not have visited Drum Castle before.

With Timesliders, we’re not just teaching history – your support is making it come alive and ensuring that Scotland’s stories continue to inspire future generations.

£15 could cover the travel costs for one school child to attend Timesliders. Will you donate today?
