    One of the most beautiful and best preserved castles in Scotland set against a magnificent garden with its world-renowned June Border. Occupied by the Burnetts of leys for over 350 years the castle, garden and estate are a must see for any visitor to the north-east of Scotland. The Horsemill book & gift shop is an exciting new addition to Crathes offering a wide selection of books for sale from Scottish interest to cookery, gardening and humour. Both the Horsemill Shop and Courtyard Catering facilities are open daily throughout the year.

    Garden and Estate: all year, daily 9-sunset.

    Castle: 5 Jan to 31 Mar, Sat/Sun 10.30-3.45; 1 Apr to 31 May Sat-Thur 10.30-4.30; 1 Jun to 31 Aug, daily 10.30-5; 1 Sep to 31 Oct, Sat-Thur 10.30-4.30; 1 Nov to 31 Dec (closed 24-26 Dec), Sat/ Sun 10.30-3.45.

    Courtyard Catering and Shop: 5 Jan to 31 Mar, daily 10-4; 1 Apr to 31 May, daily 10-5; 1 Jun to 31 Aug, daily 10-5.30; 1 Sep to 31 Oct, daily 10-4.30; 1 Nov to 31 Dec (closed 24-26 Dec), daily 10-4.

    Castle also open daily during Easter, October and Christmas holidays.
    Last admission to castle 45 mins before closing.
    To help you enjoy your visit, and for safety reasons, admission to the cast is by timed ticket (limited numbers: entry may be delayed).
