Royal Burgh of Culross

Step back in time to 17th-century port life
The palace gardens at the Royal Burgh of Culross

The Royal Burgh of Culross, on the northern shore of the Firth of Forth, is a complete community preserved as it was in the 16th and 17th centuries. Within easy reach of Edinburgh, Culross Palace, Town House and Burgh combine to offer a unique period setting for religious, civil and humanist weddings, corporate events and family gatherings.

Whatever the occasion, guests can enjoy welcome drinks in the Palace’s High Hall, with its barrel-vaulted ceiling, or in the secluded Palace courtyard. Enjoy the fresh sea air as you stroll through the cobbled streets, listening to tales of old on an exclusive private tour, which includes the wonderful re-created 17th-century walled garden.
