Culloden teacher information

Learning at Culloden is about discovering the story of the Jacobites through skills-based, hands-on activities. We have a range of sessions you can book for your class.

Introduction

Your class can walk in the footsteps of the Jacobites by booking a school visit to Culloden Battlefield and Visitor Centre. Discover our full range of indoor, outdoor and online sessions for Primary or Secondary classes below. We also have a range of accompanying resources.

Booking and charges

All visits must be booked in advance, including self-led visits to the site. We strongly advise booking more than one month in advance as availability can vary. Once you have booked, you will be sent a confirmation email with further pre-visit information. Please ensure you have read this before your visit.

  • Full-day visit | 10am-2pm | £6 per pupil
    A full day visit includes two class sessions, admission to the visitor centre and a battlefield tour
  • Half-day visit | 60-120 mins | £4 per pupil
    A half-day visit includes a class session, admission to the visitor centre and a battlefield tour
  • Self-led visit | 120 mins | £4 per pupil
    A self-led visit includes admission to the visitor centre

Please contact us for charges for our online sessions.

Accompanying adults are free of charge in the following ratios:

  • 1 adult:5 pupils for Primary 1–2
  • 1 adult:8 pupils for Primary 3–7
  • 1 adult:10 pupils for secondary schools
  • Any carers/support workers visit free of charge.

Additional adults will be charged at the standard rate of admission: £9.50 per person.

These rates apply to schools and home education groups based in the UK. Please contact us for charges for overseas schools.
