The Rebels presentation was developed by 3 volunteers on the engagement team as they wanted to find out more about men and women who became known as rebels for their part in the ’45. Were they rebels or were they just doing what they believed was right?

Annual Commemoration Service (Culloden Battlefield)

The annual commemoration service is held on the nearest Saturday to 16 April. It’s free to attend and is delivered by the Gaelic Society of Inverness, Comunn Gàidhlig Inbhir Nis. The service begins at 11am, with the procession leaving Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre at 10.30am.

For this year’s annual commemoration talk we’ll be joined by Canna Archivist Fiona J Mackenzie, from Canna House (National Trust for Scotland) where John Lorne Campbell’s original archives are kept. Fiona will describe the significance of this seminal work of songs collected by Campbell, all with the ’45 at their heart.
