All at our charity send our deepest condolences on the death of Simon Fraser.

Simon served the Trust in many ways over the years, most recently as one of our Vice-Presidents – a role he had taken on in 2014. He was one of our strongest supporters and we are very grateful for all he did for our charity.

Chief Executive Phil Long OBE said: ‘Simon Fraser, together with his wife Bridget, was a stalwart supporter of our charity for many years.

‘Simon was a long-standing Patron and a former Trustee too.

‘In 2020, with fellow Patrons in both the US and UK, Simon and Bridget led the Patrons’ Club challenge which raised more than £1m to support us in our time of most need.

“Simon also inspired our 2020 Stride out for Scotland campaign, believing everyone would benefit from nature and that sponsored walks would be a way in which many could contribute and enjoy at the same time. He and Bridget walked the east coast, leading by example and inspiring others to do the same.

‘Simon was generous with his time, wisdom, experience and was a huge support to all of us at the Trust.

‘We are thinking of Bridget and all of Simon’s family at this difficult time and we would like to say a heartfelt thank you for all Simon did for our charity, on behalf of all of us here at the Trust.’
