Follow the rangers
A countryside ranger’s job is to tell a story with nature. Yes, we look after properties and do survey work for wildlife and plants – which is very important – but our job is also to tell people about it. We are the interpreters.
This summer we are looking forward to running our ‘Nature Nippers’ sessions for the under-5s: tots get to spend time up close and personal with their natural surroundings, learning about everything from frogspawn to owl droppings.
Many of the Trust’s buildings have bats in them, which really gets people excited. For me, that’s part of telling the story of the great things that the Trust looks after.
With your help we can reach out to more people and introduce them to our nation’s wonderful natural heritage.
