Turrets, towers and gargoyles, winding staircases, ornate ceilings and ancient sculpted yew trees, combine to make Crathes Castle a truly magical setting for fairytale weddings, private parties, family gatherings and corporate events.
Imagine entertaining your guests in the majestic Great Hall, a room which has hosted kings and queens across the centuries; a room steeped in myth and legend, and dominated by its high vaulted ceiling and impressive stone fireplace, above which hangs the ancient Horn of Leys, a gift from King Robert the Bruce in 1323.
Whatever the occasion, Crathes offers a variety of breathtaking locations within the historic castle, refurbished courtyard restaurant, gardens and wider estate. Simply put, no event is too big or too small.

Weddings at Crathes Castle
A wonderfully romantic venue for civil, religious and humanist weddings, Crathes Castle is also ideal for champagne receptions and fine dining. From the castle, a short stroll leads to the Courtyard Restaurant for larger receptions, dancing, ceilidhs and the evening's festivities.
Crathes world famous walled garden, which comprises eight individual gardens, ranging from the formal to the modern, is an idyllic setting for alfresco weddings, photography and drinks receptions. During spring and summer, the Golden Garden is especially captivating, rich in colour and fragrance, while the historic yew hedges, manicured lawns and borders ensure that this is truly a garden for all seasons.
For larger wedding receptions and events, a marquee can be erected in the grounds with the castle as a dramatic backdrop.
Corporate

With excellent business facilities, including WiFi and the latest audio-visual technology, the Conference Suite is ideal for meetings, seminars and training events. Between meetings, the beautiful walled garden and woodland walks offer delegates the opportunity to relax, unwind and enjoy a breath of fresh air.
