Back to Culloden

Tours and presentations

To help bring the poignant history of Culloden to life, our dedicated team of staff and volunteers run a range of presentations, battlefield tours and museum highlight tours throughout the year.

Our object handling workshops allow you to see what life was like in the 18th century. Explore the doctor’s surgery, which contains everything needed to amputate a limb, and find out more about the soldier’s life – which necessities did every soldier have to carry to survive the campaign?

Presentations also explore the myths and questions around Culloden. Was it Scotland vs England? How was the great plaid worn? What happened to the men and women captured after the battle?

Battlefield tours take you around Culloden Battlefield itself to help bring the events of 16 April 1746 into focus. Our knowledgeable team members take you around all the key points of interest and share the stories of the people who fought here.

Throughout the year, a father and son piping duo regularly play on the battlefield, creating an atmospheric effect.

We also offer regular presentations about products in our shop, giving you the chance to find out more about our special ranges.

Keep an eye on our Events page for further details on these tours and presentations.
