Inverewe Scottish Rock Garden Festival

Wednesday 4th September - Monday 9th September

Inverewe is working with the Scottish Rock Garden Club to offer a joint programme of talks and workshops looking at many aspects of rock gardening with leading experts Ian Young, Julia Corden and Matt Topsfield.

The Scottish Rock Garden Club's David Boys Events are intended to reach out, taking our enthusiasm and expertise on Rock Gardening to outlying areas as well as cooperating with other organisations such as the Inverewe Rock Garden Project.

The SRGC are working with the garden staff of the NTS Inverewe Garden to renovate part of their rock garden in the crevice style. The SRGC are bringing two world renowned experts on creating crevice gardens to lead the construction. Paul Spriggs from Vancouver Island, BC and Zdenek Zvolanek from the Czech Republic.

The SRGC team will be on site from Wednesday 4th September until Monday 9th September, with the construction work starting on Thursday 5th September. During the construction there will be the opportunity to demonstrate and explain the methods and reasons behind this style of garden.

Subject to the weather, a demonstration of landscaping in troughs and containers will take place near the rock garden on Friday 6th September and Saturday 7th September at 2pm.

In addition to the construction work all are invited to attend two talks which will be held in Inverewe Garden's Cafe.

*This event is included in the garden admission price (free for members).
