Goatfell Torchlight Charity Challenge 2019

Taking place at

Ayrshire & Arran

27 Apr

Experience the magic of being on a high mountain in darkness, in the safe company of experienced Arran Mountain Rescue Team members and the Trust’s Arran Ranger Service.

We’ll walk up Goat Fell during sunset and shine a beacon from the summit at nightfall, before descending by torchlight (and hopefully a bit of moonlight). Teaming up with our colleagues at the Ben Lomond and Ben Lawers ranger services, who will have groups on Ben Lomond and Ben Lawers at the same time, we’ll shine our beacon to participants there, and will hopefully see their beacons in return.

To participate, you need to pay a £15 registration fee and raise a minimum sponsorship sum of £50 in aid of two good causes:

Goat Fell conservation work, including footpath repair and maintenance, and the Arran Mountain Rescue Team. All funds raised by the event will be split 60:40 between these two causes.

This is a strenuous mountain walk, which will take several hours and requires a good degree of fitness and appropriate hill walking gear.

To register, visit www.nts.org.uk/stories/torchlight. REGISTRATION CLOSES MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY 24TH APRIL.
