Details

As we all know, there is still a threat from COVID-19 and that means we’ve had to make some changes so that we can keep you and our team safe when visiting.

We’re introducing an advance booking system to help manage visitor numbers and maintain safe, social distancing. Members can book for free, while non-members will need to pay when booking.

Book your timeslot to arrive at Culloden visitor centre

If you do not pre-book we cannot guarantee entry to the exhibition; you can, however, visit the battlefield at any time. Please note face coverings are mandatory inside the visitor centre. There is a car parking charge – everything you spend onsite goes towards conserving Scotland’s heritage.

Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre will be open Wednesday to Sunday (closed Monday & Tuesday) from 10am to 4pm.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you back!

National Trust for Scotland and National Trust Members

Member entry to the exhibition will be free, but we ask that you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Each individual member will require a ticket so please ensure you purchase the correct quantity of tickets to cover those visiting. (eg Family Members with 2 adults and 2 children will require 4 member tickets)

You’ll also need to show your valid membership card on arrival.

Non-Members

Please purchase the required ticket type. You will be asked for proof of purchase upon arrival at the visitor centre.

Adult – £11
Concession – £9.50
Family (2 adults and up to 4 children) – £27
1 Parent family (1 adult and up to 4 children) – £22

Before you travel
Please follow the current government advice on interacting with people outside of your household.
Please do not visit if you or a member of your household has had any symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

General safety advice
Once at the property, please look out for signage and follow any directions given by our team. Your ticket will allow you to spend 60 minutes in the exhibition. This is to ensure everyone has a great experience while maintaining social distancing. We encourage you to use contactless payment when onsite.

We’re delighted to offer you a small selection of takeaway refreshments.

The Culloden shop will be open. Similar to the systems you’ve probably seen at supermarkets lately, we’ll have one-way queues in place, and guidance provided through floor markings.
Please keep handling of products on shelves to a minimum.

Stay at least 2 metres (6 feet) away from others.

If hand sanitiser or soap is provided, please use it.

Wherever possible, please take your litter home with you for disposal.

Our cleaning teams will be working very hard to keep you safe.

Toilets

The toilets in the visitor centre will be open. Due to restricted space in these facilities, distanced queues will be introduced to ensure physical distancing.

We’ll be providing hand sanitiser at the toilets and we will close off some cubicles and urinals to avoid overcrowding. Toilets will be cleaned regularly throughout the day.

The Battlefield

The sense of place is something we want to protect and preserve, so you won’t necessarily find any signage beyond the car parks – please take care and make sure you keep a distance of at least 2 metres from anyone else you happen to meet while enjoying the landscape.

We hope you enjoy your visit!
