The Eisenhower Apartment, gifted to the US President in 1945 in recognition of his role in the Second World War, is located on the top floor of the castle. The Eisenhower comprises six tastefully appointed double bedrooms accommodating a maximum of 12 guests and includes a private drawing room overlooking the Ayrshire coastline – all accessed using the original 1920s elevator.

Guests will have the opportunity to dine in the recently refurbished Fo’c’sle Restaurant inside the castle. The name Fo’c’sle is taken from the abbreviated form of forecastle, the term used to describe the upper deck forward of the foremast nearest the bow of the ship. The name reflects the nautical connections of the castle’s history.

Within the estate there are also five beautifully appointed self-catering cottages: Ardlochan LodgeBrewhouse FlatRoyal Artillery CottageNorth Segganwell and South Segganwell. Each cottage can sleep up to four guests and can be hired for a week or a short break.
