Here are 8 walks on Trust sites that are a bit
adventurous. They're not arduous hill walks - but
they do require average fitness. They include
some lovely views, rushing streams, cliffs and a
sea journey.

Rockcliffe is an attractive village within a lovely stretch of coastline. Stroll round the Trust site with its hill fort, or go along the path to the next village and stop for lunch. Sit on the beach or take a swim. Or walk to Rough Island along the causeway, at low tide. The island is a bird sanctuary (don’t go in May or June). And be sure to check the tidal times or you’ll have to stay on the island for a while…
