1. Welcome and Introductions

2. Minutes

To approve the minute of the Annual  General Meeting held at the Albert Halls,  Stirling on 24 September 2016. 

3. Annual Review and Accounts 2016/17

To consider adoption of the 86th Annual Review and Accounts.  The item includes two open Q & A sessions.

4. Election of Auditors

The Board of Trustees will propose that RSM UK Audit LLP, Chartered Accountants, First Floor, Quay 2, 139 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, EH3 9QG be re-appointed as the Trust’s auditors.

5. Election of the President and Vice-Presidents

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees proposes the appointment of Neil Oliver as President of the National Trust for Scotland and that the Duchess of Fife, Professor Hugh Cheape, Angus MacDonald, Simon Fraser and Professor Michael Scott-Morton be reappointed as Vice Presidents.

6. Ordinary Membership Subscription

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees proposes that with effect from 1st March 2016 the minimum amount of the annual subscription required for qualification as an Ordinary Member of the National Trust for Scotland, currently £56, shall be the sum of £57. 

7. A Year for the Young

As the 2018 Year of Young People draws closer, Young Scot present the findings on a unique report on how heritage could be made more engaging and inclusive for the young. 

8.  Our Cause

An opportunity to consider a renewed vision and purpose for the National Trust  for Scotland.  A Q & A session follows.

9. Announcement of the recipients of the George Waterston Memorial and Colin Donald Environmental Law Awards

The recipients of the George Waterston Memorial Award, which is presented to a volunteer who has shown an outstanding contribution to the Trust,  and the Colin Donald Environmental Law Award to the student who has written the prize-winning essay on the  subject, will be announced. 

10. Election of Three Trustees

The results of the ballot of NTS members. 

11. Annual General Meeting 2018

Announcement of the date and location of the 2018 AGM.

 
 

PAPERS

Various supporting papers may be tabled at the meeting. The Annual Review, Annual Accounts and the draft minute of the last AGM will be provided on request in writing to the Trust Secretary and can be downloaded prior to the meeting.  Copies will also be available at the AGM.

You do not need to register to attend the AGM but it helps us if you do so as soon as possible by completing your advance online booking form. 

If you wish to purchase lunch on the day, you must register and let us know by 22 September 2017. Please remember to bring your membership card and papers to the AGM – admission may be refused if you cannot produce your card.

ACCESS TO THE CAIRD HALL 

The Caird Hall can be accessed via City Square off Dundee High Street.  The Caird Hall is the building with the ten Doric columns to the south of the Square. There is ramped access from the City Square via the Marryat Door into the venue.  Facilities include adapted toilets an induction loop in the main auditorium. The closest secure car parks are located at Greenmarket and Gellatly Street.
