Would you like to learn more about Garden History?

The National Trust for Scotland is the custodian of many of the nation’s finest historic gardens and designed landscapes, and holds a wealth of expertise and knowledge on the gardens within its care.

In this course, we seek to unravel the mysteries surrounding our garden conservation and management work; to learn where to source and how to make sense of historical information relating to gardens in Scotland; and how to interpret and use it to make appropriate garden management decisions.

Within the context of its unique portfolio of historic gardens, the National Trust for Scotland’s School of Heritage Gardening is delighted to offer this course once again. The course will be presented by experienced garden historian Christopher Dingwall, in partnership with the Trust’s specialist staff including Gardens Advisors, Head Gardeners, and Garden Archaeologists.
