The National Trust for Scotland Nature Channel project has been developed to capture the amazing abundance of wildlife and the stunning landscape that can be seen across our incredible range of properties. The project utilises the habitat, species knowledge and field-craft skills of the Trust’s rangers, ecologists and conservation specialists, in recording this unique footage.

The Nature Channel has been supported by Trust staff who have received training in capturing and editing footage using high quality camera equipment to create a variety of films. The camera equipment consists of numerous trail cameras (triggered by motion detection), mobile video cameras and remote controlled fixed ball cameras. Much of the training and support has been provided by John and Mary-Lou Aitchison of Otterfilms.

Our aim is to capture the imagination of the public and raise awareness of our breathtaking natural landscapes and wildlife. We hope that you enjoy the selection of films and come back as they grow.  As one of Scotland’s biggest landowners, the Trust conserves the land and habitats you can watch in these videos, so please support our work by donating today.

The National Trust for Scotland would like to thank Scottish Natural Heritage for their support of the project.
