Leith Hall Junior Ranger Guides

On a cold summers day, the P5-7s from Kennethmont Primary School became the first Junior Ranger Guides at Leith Hall. Since March this year they have been working on a new project with the Ranger Service to lead their own guided walks. Working in groups, the children chose a topic about Leith Hall Gardens and Estate that interested them and set out to learn more about it and share it with others. During the course of the term the children researched their topics, interviewed experts, planned their routes and designed leaflets to advertise their walks whilst learning about how to present themselves to groups. After a dress rehearsal where they presented their walks to the neighbouring Premnay primary, the pupils then spent a morning leading their parents, members of the local community and NTS staff around the estate and gardens, telling them all about the history and wildlife that can be found there.
