These pages provide information about Scipio Kennedy who came from Africa to Scotland, as an enslaved child. He lived for many years with Sir John and Lady Jean Kennedy at Culzean and was given his freedom in 1725. Scipio married and continued to live at Culzean. He died at the age of about 80 years, in 1774.
