The curatorial team covers a wide range of projects advising on all aspects of the technical and historic display of fine art, decorative arts, agricultural machinery, archaeological items and social history. As a sample of our current program:

Public Catalogue Foundation Project (PCF)

Alongside the PCF our team is photographing every single oil, tempera and Acrylic painting in the collection for publication in a written and BBC online catalogue by summer 2012. The PCF are a charity which aims to catalogue and photograph every oil painting in public ownership in Great Britain.

Auditing the entire collection and updating the documentation to SPECTRUM standards. Using the new database, ADLIB, this mammoth task will take years to complete but will bring the Trust collections management systems up to date and enable online access to our records.

In 2011 our team completed major redisplays of the historic interiors at House of Dun, Culzean Castle, Gladstone’s Land and the Georgian House. As we research our collections through historic inventories, old photographs and other sources and reacquire original items we aim to accurately reflect the tastes and choices of the families who lived and worked in the properties.
