Description
The Morton Photography Project initiated a programme of works which included documenting and digitising a number of collections, creating digital exhibitions, re-displaying a property to include the photographic collection, loaning objects to other institutions and commissioning conservation.
The next phase will continue this field work, focusing on highlighting the national significance of collections across the NTS. The Morton Curator will be responsible for the success of this next phase. This post holder will be responsible for line managing the Documentation and Digitisation Officer, who will complete the digitisation and documentation of all negatives and prints that are held in the archive store. The Morton Curator will also be charged with working alongside Head of Collections & Interiors (Policy) to increase the national profile of the Canna collection and the photographic collection at Broughton House, Kirkcudbright. The Morton Curator will be responsible for organising a symposium to bring together key academics and photo historians who can comment on the importance of the collection.
