The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum will provide in depth learning programmes, which will support the long term management and conservation of the collection and site ensuring the widest possible access for visitors of all ages and interests. The RBBM is a popular destination for primary schools, as well as other educational establishments, groups and families, holding an important position as a centre for lifelong learning. The Learning Programme covers a wide variety of themes and topics and makes use of the cottage, museum and the surrounding buildings and landscape.

The National Trust for Scotland recognises the importance that education and interpretation plays in adding value to the visitor experience at its properties. The provision of an interesting and educational day out has been a key feature at RBBM for many years. The purpose of the Visitor Services Supervisor Engagement role is to support the visitor services teams in the delivery of high quality visitor experience and events, both consistently and professionally at RBBM.

The roles main purpose is to support the development and delivery of high quality Learning Programmes at RBBM.
