The purpose of the role of the Building Surveying team is to provide professional and technical knowledge and support for the built heritage environment and general built portfolio with regards to cyclical, capital, and project buildings works as prescribed and agreed through Annual Operating Plans and conservation plans. The Building Surveying team operates through a consultancy model whereby the Building Surveyor is aligned to a client group of properties to enable the programming of activity and commissioning of appropriate services and contractors to carry out the required works. This includes ensuring that works specifications, contracting, project management, and results are compliant with legislation and Trust technical standards. The Business Manager assigned to the same client group of properties will support the Building Surveyor with programme management, contracting matters, and project management as part of his/her remit to take a regional view of wider programmes of work within the region?s priorities and resource constraints.
