The warm days of summer provide dramatic flower displays in the herbaceous borders,scent from the rose gardens fills the air, and the vegetable gardens are a sight for sore eyes (or hungry stomachs!!). Here are some of the sights to be seen in summer and where to go to see them.

Harvesting cut flowers
Culzean Castle, Drum Castle and Priorwood Garden.

Herbaceous borders
Crathes Castle, Castle Fraser, Culzean Castle, Falkland Palace, Leith Hall, Pitmedden Garden, Threave Garden, Geilston, Haddo.

Mixed borders
Crathes Castle, Harmony Garden, Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse, Kellie Castle, Malleny Garden.

Model `period gardens`
