Trust properties are unique and special. Managing them well depends upon having a good understanding of their importance and a clear set of guidelines which allow our properties to be cared for and managed to ensure their long term survival and so that people can enjoy and understand them. Property Statements are produced by the Trust to help guide property management and this process is led by the Management Plan Team.

Who we are
The Management Plan Team consists of five members of staff who come from a range of backgrounds and all bring their own areas of knowledge, expertise and interest to the Property Statement Process.

What we do
The Management Plan Team is responsible for the production of Property Statements and Management Plans for properties across all four Trust Regions. This involves working with property and other staff covering all areas of interest, to gain a thorough understanding of the importance of the property and to achieve consensus on appropriate management for the future. Although often a smooth process, planning at the property level can sometimes throw up areas of conflict. Some degree of compromise amongst staff towards the resolution of conflict is, therefore, often required. The Team also contributes to a range of other areas of Trust work including the development of Trust policy and GIS mapping.

Why we do it
Property Statements and Management Plans provide the Trust with an avenue to explain how and why it values the properties it owns or manages and how it intends to fulfil its statutory obligations through management in line with its Corporate Plan and Policies. The process also allows a range of interests to come together to undertake a comprehensive review and evaluation of the property and develop an agreed way forward for the future.
