TRAINING

Culzean Workshop

Since 1991, the National Trust for Scotland has operated a stonemasonry workshop at Culzean Castle. The aim of these workshops is to carry out repairs to the fabric of Culzean and other Trust sites using traditional methods, to produce lime mortars for use within the Trust, and to train stonemasons within the framework of a traditional craft apprenticeship.

This apprenticeship takes fours years to complete and includes attendance at college as well as extensive practical experience.
