Description
The National Trust for Scotland is looking for an enthusiastic individual to develop, promote and coordinate the Trust's Centre of Excellence in Heritage Horticulture(CEHH) initiative, demonstrating that the Trust's gardens and designed landscapes are ideal contexts in which to deliver a wide-range of horticultural learning activities that will help ensure current and future gardeners have the skills and mind-set required for heritage gardening. The post holder will also drive the Trust programme to ensure that its plant collections are identified and fully recorded, and provide a general garden advisory service to a designated group of properties, to ensure that Trust-wide garden and designed landscape policies/procedures are advocated and complied with and to provide specialist technical advice on operational gardening and garden development.

To be successful in this role, you will have good working knowledge of horticultural training in the United Kingdom, in particular in Scotland; wide experience in amenity horticulture and knowledge of traditional- and contemporary horticultural techniques, combined with good understanding of garden management skills and practice. You will also have sound experience in delivery of business plan targets and objectives and experience in conservation garden management and an understanding and appreciation of Scottish garden history.
