5-Day Tour
Day 1 (Aberdeenshire)
- 10.30 Visit to Pitmedden
Garden, a wonderful formal garden featuring intricate floral
patterns inspired by the 17th-century designs at the Palace
of Holyroodhouse.
- 12.00 Lunch and guided tour of nearby Haddo
House, which combines elegant Georgian architecture with
sumptuous Victorian interiors.
- 15.00 Visit to Fyvie
Castle, a fine example of Scottish Baronial architecture,
with a rich collection of paintings, armoury and tapestries.
- 16.30 Return to Aberdeen.
Day 2 (Speyside)
- 10.00 Visit to Benromach Distillery, Moray’s
smallest distillery, with over 100 years of history and tradition,
where you will be able to enjoy a sample!
- 12.00 Lunch and guided tour of Brodie
Castle, which contains fine pieces of French furniture,
and a major art collection.
- 15.00 Visit to Culloden
battlefield, site of the last major battle fought on the
British mainland.
- 16.30 Return to Aberdeen.
Day 3 (Aberdeenshire)
- 10.00 Visit to Balmoral Castle (open April
- July), holiday retreat of the royal family.
- 13.00 Lunch and tour of Crathes
Castle and Garden, an impressive 16th-century château-style
structure set in a series of beautiful garden spaces.
- 16.00 Guided tour of nearby Drum
Castle, one of the oldest surviving tower houses in Scotland.
- 17.00 Return to Aberdeen.
Day 4 (Speyside)
- 11.00 Visit to Speyside Cooperage in Aberlour,
a unique experience, where you can watch skilled coopers demonstrate
the skills involved in cask making.
- 14.30 Afternoon visit to the Garden & Estate at Leith Hall, a picturesque and tranquil spot with flowering trees, shrubs and a magnificent zigzag herbaceous border.
- 16.30 Return to Aberdeen.
Day 5 (Aberdeenshire)
- 11.00 Private morning tour and lunch at
Castle Fraser,
one of the grandest Castles
of Mar, with impressive balustrades, gables and turrets.
- 13.30 Return to Aberdeen for some leisure
time to enjoy the excellent shopping and cultural attractions.
